Smart City Summit

International Summit to raise the awareness of the Smart City concept among authorities, businessmen, students and citizens in Binh Duong and demonstrating the value and benefits to Binh Duong New City and sustainable social and economic development of the region. On March 28th, 2016 the first Smart City Summit Binh Duong took place in the conference center in Binh Duong New City. This summit was initiated by EIPO and co-organized by Becamex IDC, the Dutch Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and the province of Binh Duong.

The summit included:

  1. Conference: The one day conference on March 28th featured keynote speeches from the leaders of Binh Duong explaining their vision, the city of Eindhoven and Brainport officials sharing experiences and thought leaders from industry and universities on latest developments. The afternoon program included interactive parallel sessions by companies like Philips, IBM and Intel. The conference was attended by some 1,000 participants.
  2. Exhibition: Live demonstrations, interactive platforms and an overview of best practices of companies at the exhibition area. Among the exhibitors were Vietnamese companies like VNTT and Lac Viet, as well as international companies like Bosch, NXP, Philips, IBM, Witteveen+Bos, Tebodin, Microsoft and Intel.
  3. Hackathon: On March 26th and 27th, a 24 hour hackathon took place, joined by over 50 teams of students from all over Vietnam as well as an international team, aiming to develop new applications on Smart City topics.
